Make A Style Statement With Your Baby’s Name by Scarlett Jewel

What’s in a name? Everything. That’s why parents spend nine months carefully reviewing and contemplating each and every name from their baby book. After much deliberating, the expectant couple whittles down their list with family and friends, who “yea” or “nay,” until they finally select a name that will forever define their precious little joy. All that goes out the window soon after little Zoe or Joey arrives. Mom and dad quickly transform from intelligent, coherent adults to blubbering, baby-talking parents.

Parents simply can’t help going goo-goo gaga over their teeny tiny tot, and suddenly normal words change into, well, babyesque words. A pacifier becomes a binkie, food becomes yum-yums, bottle becomes bobbie, and even the baby gets a nickname – suddenly, Brittany becomes Britty Bear. Sound familiar?

If you’ve ever watched Tori Spelling on Tori & Dean Home Sweet Hollywood, you’ll know that Donna Martin has nicknames for both her son and daughter. The author-designer-actress-reality star and proud mother lovingly adopted the name “Monkey” for her son Liam and “Ladybug” for her daughter Stella soon after their births. Tori didn’t just give her children nicknames; she gave them a defining sense of style.

Nicknames are a fun way to flaunt your child’s personality and an even better excuse to dress your little one up in uber-cute themed outfits. Never one to miss a fashion or social opportunity, Tori employed a monkey-themed party for her son’s first birthday party – complete with a real monkey and a monkey cake! Her daughter, Stella, recently celebrated her first birthday party. The theme? Ladybugs of course, with Stella wearing a ladybug party dress and guests receiving ladybug stuffed swag bags.

Now is the time to indulge in tempting little outfits for your teeny-tiny. Go ahead and dress your “flower” or “rockstar” in stylish little clothes that satisfy your cute urges. After all, the nicknames and clothing are more for you, and junior won’t appreciate it if you attempt to dress him at 16. There are a great assortment of sweet and chic character themed clothes and accessories for your tot. So if you have a Zoe Zebra or a Patrick Puppy, make sure that your little character is fitted with the perfect custom.  Below are some picture perfect choices for Tori and you.
